What watch do you recommend for a student?

Seiko 5 or a San Martin if you can swing the cost as a student. I wouldn't suggest a shitter cause it'll look totally out of place in class.

Get a nice IWC shitter, understated and can easily pull it off as a used piece

I can't believe I'm saying this but honestly... you're a student. Invicta pro diver with NH35 is bang for buck.

To echo what a lot of people are saying - seiko for tool watches and orient for dress watches would be my call
